When I first started watching K-dramas, it was mostly to appease that one friend who kept insisting I’d like it. But soon after binge-watching responsibly consuming my first drama (Boys Over Flowers anyone?), I completely fell down the rabbit hole. I was interested in the music, fashion, and beauty products I saw- but mostly the food! (I blame Korean drama for my instant ramen addiction). Then, I stumbled on a subscription service that would ship me Korean snacks every month. As a college student who was totally incompetent didn’t like to cook and was made up solely of stress, missed deadline, and snacks, it was perfect.
The company I bought from, SnackFever, was relatively new compared to other subscription boxes, but I got a lot of stuff for the price. Over the years I’ve seen the company grow, move to Korea, and start shipping worldwide. It also changed its name to The Daebak Company, and offers not only snacks, but Korean fashion, beauty products, and K-drama and K-pop official merchandise. Their seasonal goodie box, the Daebak Box, is filled with a surprise selection of Korean snacks, skincare, stationary, and more. I often get something that I was already planning to buy or end up buying again. The biggest reason I keep subscribing though, (aside from the above mentioned ramen addiction) is the amazing customer service and community. They have a Facebook group to connect with other Hallyu (Korean Wave) fans and always update costumers when there are schedule changes or other updates. Basically, they seem really nice.
